Why do women deny their husbands sex,when they know it leads to resentment?

Why do women ever withhold sex? Do they realize their undermining the marriage and making their husband resentful? Isn't easier to just lay there and let him have some,then risk him looking elsewhere and possibly having an affair? If your NOT in the mood, why not at least negotiate a compromise and give him 5 or 10 minutes of sex? That's hardly a huge sacrifice for a man that married you and made a life commitment to only be with you.
